CLUB INFO, BRIDLE PATH RULES

It is with the permission of the landowners or the deeding of the bridle paths or The Forest Preserve of Cook County that we have a bridle path system in Barrington Hills. If our landowners' property is misused, paths will be closed to us. We therefore ask you to follow the bridle path trail rules of the RCBH to insure that our bridle path system, founded in 1937, will continue to be viable.

  1. The rider must be a current RCBH member.
  2. Members must accompany their guests when riding on the private bridle paths. RCBH guests are required to sign a release and waiver of liability.
  3. Show respect to all landowners.
  4. Follow the RCBH bridle path markers. Always stay on the trails. Do not ride across open space adjacent to the trails. Do not ride up driveways unless they are part of the trail. Do not ride through unmarked areas.
  5. Current RCBH bridle tags must be displayed at all times. The Forest Preserve of Cook County requires an Annual Private Horse License. Forms are mailed to members each year. For additional forms, please contact the forest preserve at 708-771-1057.
  6. Do not litter! Do not throw cigarette butts on the bridle path.
  7. Bridle paths are for horses only. No dogs or motorized vehicles allowed. Pedestrian use is not permitted. Close all gates you open.
  8. Control your horse at all times. No galloping. Please observe posted signs: walk, trot, or single file.
  9. Report all blocked bridle paths to the Trial Rep in your sector or clear the path yourself. Current Trail Reps are listed on the Trails page and in your RCBH directory.

Enjoy the bridle paths and have fun!
