    Ann McCombs
    (McCombs Equine Veterinary Services)
is our guest speaker at the February Riding Club Board of Directors Meeting
Dr. McCombs will be speaking on Competitive Mounted Orienteering
(Tuesday, February 20th 2018, 7:00 p.m. at the Riding Center)

Competitive Mounted Orienteering called the thinking riders sport, this is NOT a horse race. It is a timed, mounted event where teams are given a map and asked to find ten hidden plates with words written upon them to prove you have found them. The fastest team to find all ten plates wins. Sometimes it’s the tortoise whose steady careful approach wins the day!
Get unplugged from hi-tech and develop your skills riding and recognizing nature around you. Learn how to better read a map, use a compass and communicate with teammates and other competitors.

Develop camaraderie with other riders in good natured competition during the ride and after while horse camping and enjoying potlucks around campfires.

Any type of horse, any kind of tack, comfortable riding clothes, any sized team (1+), only thing thing required is a compass and a pen.

Meet new people who enjoy riding, horse camping and a purpose to ride. Visit new parks and private riding sites all over Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. This is a national sport so members can compete all over the US using published rules
